SIM Card Setup for your Mason Device

If your Mason device accepts a SIM card, you’re in the right place! Here you’ll find instructions to safely and correctly insert your SIM card into the specific Mason device you are setting up.

Mason F-07

The Mason F-07 tablet has its SIM slot on the top right edge of the device when held screen up in portrait mode (long edge vertical).

What type of SIM do I have?

Your Mason F-07 accepts a Micro SIM card. If you’re confused by the sizes, please visit this Wikipedia page (a Micro SIM is the FF-3 form factor) or take a peek inside the Developer Kit Quick Guide included in the devkit box.

Steps To Insert A SIM Card

To insert a SIM card into your device:

  1. Gently open the slot protector with your nail or a small tool using the little notch provided.
  2. Flip the tablet over, with the camera on the top left while holding it in portrait mode (long edge vertical).
  3. Hold the SIM card with the notch to the top left. The exposed metallic contacts of the SIM chip should be facing away from you.
  4. Slide the SIM card into the slot on the left (the slot closer to the rear camera).
  5. About three quarters of the way through (and only then), you should feel some resistance. At this point, push the SIM card all the way in and it will stay in after you hear a subtle click.
  6. Replace the SIM slot cover.

Steps To Remove A SIM Card

To remove a previously inserted SIM card:

  1. Gently open the slot protector with your nail or a small tool using the little notch provided.
  2. Flip the tablet over, with the camera on the top left while holding it in portrait mode (long edge vertical).
  3. Ensure that the slot on the left (the slot closer to the rear camera) is occupied by a SIM card.
  4. Press down on the SIM card gently, and with a subtle click you should see it pop out and expose a quarter of itself.
  5. Gently clasp the exposed portion of the SIM card and pull it out of the slot.
  6. Replace the SIM slot cover.
